POEMS by AKLIMA ANKHI

THE COLOUR OF SEASON

With seven colours of Rainbow,

Six seasons keeping me awake

Keeping me amuse

Giving me excite

Illuminating me

Throughout the whole year.

When Summer Solstice Sun is on her head,

Delonix give smile with a crimson glow.

Green coloured eyes of Rainy season

Paints the purple colour pain.

Autumn as a girl, wearing blue Saree

Fills up selvage with Nyctanthes.

Dawn's light of Late-Autumn

Glisten with sunshine.

Yellow Chuddar of Mustard Flower

Coddle the winter body.

Ravishing colours of Spring air

Outbreak the desolate mirthless

Where blooming bunches of Red-Palas.

Sparkling land gifted by the Majestic Sun

Which is my center of soul–

Prying from the safe distance of hard

Ice or warm desert.

THE FAT-HEADED MONSTER With shouting the fat-headed monster announced - It is he who is the reservoir of strength and beauty- Brother of the Himalayas, Lover of Aphrodite! Ice block shining in the sunlight on the top of the mountain was made the crown of his success- Ocean water is blue It is seen only by his eyes! The piece of black cloud was swallowed whole To chase away the darkness of the world- Only the wind would shake him, Made him tremble time to time- He sweated as like as unwavering Aconcagua's body and grinned - Even if he was toppled by a small kind of earthquake, Getting up quickly would shake off dust As if nothing had happened - One day when he was bitten by a snake of Behula-Lakshinder, In the fallen head with fascinated eyes he witnessed- The sun is captive in dewdrop. Aklima Ankhi is a poet, storyteller and translator from Cox'sbazar, Bangladesh. She has published poetry book named "Guptokothar Shobdochabi" written in Bangla.
