Ennui
by International Author Reneé Drummond-Brown, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
Stuck-up in irrational boredom.
Convalescence is an up-pity’s understatement.
Flatness, fatigued, fake and dry.
Insane because of extreme dullness in her
web of little white lies.
Senseless emotions of Sa-ditty-ness and dreariness;
dreaming of the day Calgon can’t take her away from
her tedious and weariness behaviors spewed.
Languor, for her too-good-self is an understatement
with her high-flatulent-self of having it altogether.
Well, what do you know?
She has just been shown,
that a green velvet couch, dark shadows
and picture-perfect images of two-faced books can’t help her
own monotony, exhaustion and deadliest-drunken-dreams (none)
when boredom flatlines.
I think this is one of the best poems by Reneé Drummond-Brownd and I have read many. The imagesare tightly wolven, the variation on the sense of boredom if not depression. A sense of sarcasim about the personality character. I alway emphazize the need for a ending with a kicker feeling. I like the last 5 lines but especially the last 2 words "boredom flatlines." I also learned new new words, ennui, & languor. Michael Lee Johnson, USA.
Renee, namaste, and thank you very much, my dear sister, for God's inspirational grace for sharing your wonderful poem. The words flow very well and are uplifting. I like your use of the questioning technique. The tone and tenor move the poem graciously. Your thoughts, words, and deeds are truly uplifting. Stay inspired always with a smiling face of God's grace! Great Job!!! Please have a great day, and God's highest grace and blessings to you, your loved ones, endeavors, and family members always! Salaam, shalom, namaste, àṣẹ, amen, and congratulations and God's richest grace and blessings always! This written analysis of an extreme case of nadir, a lingering absence of self gratification, motivation, and plethora of nonessential goals waring with the Cognitive content of mismanaged solutions, is indeed a great write, the way the loneliness and boredom lies in the prerequisites of one another becomes a prelude to a rose that decided that it can survive in the desert sands of summer.

No one can escape Renee Drummond Brown's pen. She will catch you snoozing and drop some brilliance before you can blink. Imagine creating your own captivity and don't even have a clue how it happened. That's a portion of what this piece reads to me.

Author Renee Drummond-Brown has a unique gift that puts ink to paper; but also, ink to the mind. Her poems beg for re-reading to fully 'get' the meaning of each line!
